6:59 – talked about dues - when dues are posted officers get them first – also talked about possibly visiting freshmen during 6th hour to talk about club
7:00 – talked about officer buddies – pairing the freshmen with upperclassmen for the whole year – at the first meeting introduce the idea to freshmen at first meeting and by second meeting they have their buddy (we also have two 10th grade transfers in latin 1)
7:01 – went over officer expectations – 1st VP educational videos for other schools for points at convention (not due until convention) – 2nd VP have to have a service project for each quarter (we get a little extension) ideas should be done by Thursday so LGR can present to club on Thursday – Secretary get sign up sheet ready (2 points for each club meeting) teams can help keep track of who came– Parli open house on October 26 (just 8th graders) route is changed, no ambassadors so things might have to be different (follow up when more info about open house comes out) – Caroline change club shirt? Maybe a red sweatshirt with a circle with the outline of the colosseum, still with the same words though – And talked about updating the bulletin board (recruit people at first meeting to help with bulletin board) – Jilly maybe do a get to know (pick some random kid), do an officer introductions, other officers help write things for the torch (maybe make a submission box) – Alexandra update website and other officers send in profiles, moodle page doesn’t need to be updated if we are using teams, we can try to give admin power on the teams or she can email one of the consuls if she needs to change something, update website, leave moodle alone – Haley recruit people for cartamen at first meeting, cartamen meetings are virtual so have people for the next meeting (maybe have a signup sheet), levels (freshman will probably be harder to recruit but we can try), maybe do an ice breaker game, (Grace brought up Rhode Island?? As in we are doing something like them).
7:04 – LGR talked about how officers are allowed to ask for help (you don’t have to do everything by yourself, you can recruit others to help) but they are responsible for making sure it gets done
7:05 – talked briefly about club of the month (every month at the end of the month submit something to LJCL just saying what we did that moth) and Fall Forum is virtual
7:09 – talked about convention being virtual (possibly)
7:10 – consuls asked about SJA constitution
7:20 – LGR set deadlines ; Jilly have a flyer for the meeting (can be digital) with info about Latin club (how to pay dues, how to join teams, etc.) – t-shirt/ sweatshirt design (get them to Caroline) needs to be done soon!
7:22 – talked about first meeting certamen, do a Kahoot
7:23 – talked about contacting consuls if officers cant go to meeting Thursday- talked a little more about how we are going to do the meeting (half virtual? Half in one place on campus half in another? – still undecided)
7:24 – meeting ended
